Salmonella & Chickens

The CDC recently issued guidelines to backyard flock owners on how to avoid salmonella. However, according to the folks at FreeFromHarm.Org, a vegan advocacy web site, the real blame lies not with backyard chicken owners but with the hatcheries. Chicken are not likely to pick up salmonella from your garden but are more likely to contract it in a commercial setting.
